The Jaguar F-Type is a worthy successor to the legendary E-Type. The 380-hp supercharged V6 is sweeter and better balanced than the 550-hp supercharged V8. Both use superb 8-speed automatic transmissions with paddles. The aluminum structure is state of the art. Driving impressions by Marty Padgett, The Car Connection. In the hands of their pro race car driver Paul Gerrard, the car manages to post a new record, finishing a lap in 1:03.69 minutes, reportedly being considerably faster than a Jaguar F-Type R AWD
F type R is much more of a sports car than the LC and also way funner. Handles better. It also is loud all the time even at 3k RPM and pops and bangs in a riotous and organic manner. Just makes it a great street car for cruising or city driving. You don't need a canyon road or a long strip of road to have fun.

In the F-Type SVR the engine is rated 575 hp at 6,500 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque from 3,500-5,000 rpm. That's 25 hp (6,500 rpm) and 14 lb-ft (2,500-5,500 rpm) more than the F-Type R. Jaguar says

I was just shocked at how close in performed to my Viper. Felt quicker in a straight line and FAR more comfortable a ride.
