The VR missions in Ace Combat 7 are excellent, albeit there's not a whole game there like we see with the 2D content. It's been awhile since I've played Ace Combat in VR, but as I recall there were like 5 missions or so, some unlockable weapons as well as various different craft to unlock as well.

I'm considering getting Ace Combat 7 just for the VR missions, but I've never played any games in the series before and I've read in some reviews that the game doesn't do a good job of explaining things to newcomers.
A fantastic campaign mode, a VR mode so great that it should go down in history, and so many other aspects make Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown an incredible package. However, it helps to be familiar with the series in order to savor its greatness.
The closest you can really get to the movie experience is to play the mission Cape Rainy Assault with the F-18. I think it's mission 14. Just like Ace Combat 6, Assault Horizon, and Infinity, Ace Combat 7 comes with multiplayer achievements as well. You'll need to play at least 50 Team Death Match matches, and at least 50 Battle Royal (Free For All) matches. You'll have to win at least one of each, and you'll have to play on all six available maps.
